Reschedule or take it? how to prepare!?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello all,

I'm scheduled to take my NCLEX on Tues. 7/1/08 and I am very nervous at this moment.

My Kaplan question trainer scores are not satisfying me and I am worried.

QT1- 61

QT2- 72

QT3- 54

QT4- 65

QT5- 66

QT6- 66

I haven't really studied meds.

I studied with saunders 4th ed. and read those meds chapters but other than that i didn't STUDY for meds.

Do you think I should study for them before I take this exam? Some people are telling me to know the "general" facts about meds rather than spending so much time studying for so many meds. I feel like it's safer for me to study them but it is absolutely overwhelming.

Should I reschedule my exam date and study more?

How does one prepare for SATA questions? I'm not good at them.

People who passed with 75-100 questions, would you kindly share how you studied and prepared for NCLEX? how to study for meds, SATA, priority, etc.

Your honest opinions are appreciated! :heartbeat

hi i did some research from those who posted their kaplan q trainer result, and it turned out that most who got 55% and above pass the nclex, so you shouldn't worry. but we're on the same boat, im also going to test...

these are my scores:

qt1 = 64%

qt2 = 60%

qt3 = 59%

qt4 = 68%

qt5 = 66%

qt6 = 66%

i haven't started on qt7 yet. i also nervous and feel that im not also ready. im going to take the exam next month and still i have time to improve my scores. but i'm getting the confidence from the other posts that those who got lower from our scores passed with 75 questions.:yeah:

Hi

I found out on Monday that I passed the NCLEX-RN. I had 105-110 questions. At least 15 SATA and 8 drug calculations. Lots of infection control and teaching and prioritizing. I did not take Kaplan since the ATI predictor indicated I had a 97% chance of passing the NCLEX. I did use an NCLEX study guide and with another student we went through the questions including rationale for wrong answers. I also looked at a list of 25 most commonly used drugs. You should also look at ECG strips and be able to recognize the most common abnormalities. You can't really study for SATA or prioritizing. This test is testing your critical thinking skills. When you are done with the test you will probably have no clue if you passed. This is for most people I have spoken with including me. Do not re-schedule your test. Take it with confidence and you will pass. :yeah:

I am in the same situation and taking my exam on Tuesday too. I would just go ahead and take it. Why wait? Everything you did study is fresh in your mind and by waiting you're adding to your anxiety. Good luck!!!
