Requirements for licensure / I need help

Hello everyone

i need some help!!..

I'm a foreing nurse, from South America with 7 years of experience. I'm currently living in Illinois, I would like to start working again cause I miss it!. My Visa doesn't allow me to work, but somebody told me that I can get my License and afterwards I can change my status.

I already contact the department of professional regulation. But the problem is that I don't know which program from the CGFNS is the ONE for me...

either the CES or the Visascreen. If its the CES, which is the report I need to get?..(the Full Education course by Course Report Or Healthcare Profession & Science Report ?), at the department they are not sure and at the CGFNS they keep telling me that at the Department of professional regulation they should know...

In order to apply for licensure in Illinois, you need to have the CES completed by CGFNS. We always recommend the full-course report in case that you would want to continue on with your studies later on.

Visa Screen Certificate is something that you obtain once you have passed the NCLEX-RN exam as well as the series of English exams, so no reason to do anything with that now.

You need to be aware of the fact that the US is under a retrogression and has been for close to two years. Even with passing of the NCLEX exam and even finding an employer that will be interested in petitioning you, the problem is that we do not have any visas available for you to adjust your status to. So there will be no way that you will be able to work here, we do not expect things to open up for the next several years due to the large numbers that are still waiting for visas at this time that already have completed paperwork in.

Please have a good read here on what is happening now with the retrogression as well as immigration issues that are affecting you directly.
