Hello All,
I am an Indian Nurse. I have done Bsc Nursing and PG dip in hospital and healthcare management. I have submitted my documents to CNO in April. I have also tied up with an Agency which will help me in future for getting an employer in order to get Interim permit.
My Ielts score is 7 (general) R:6 , L:8.5, W:6.5, S:7. Since i lack 0.5 in reading section I inquired with CNO over phone and they told me that I can give some other English exams like: CELBAN, Melab or TOEIC. I am now preparing for TOEIC listening and Reading test.
I have also confirmed it from CNO whether I can submit a combination of TOEIC + IELTS, as I already fulfill Speaking fluency of 7 in IELTS.
My question to you all is if we are fulfilling the English requirement plus if our BSN degree is also upto the mark as per CNO standard, do we ll get the eligibility to write CRNE and plus after that are we eligible to apply for Interim permit?

once you get eligibility to sit CRNE that is when you can apply for a interim permit. interim permit indicates to employers that you have permission to sit CRNE because you meet requirements and have permission to work as a RN with limitations. Meeting English requirements as well as BSN doesn't equate to getting permission to sit CRNE, the college will make an assessment on what you submit and may require you to go through some form of assessment like SEC
It is not a permission to work as employer will require to obtain a LMO so you can apply for a temp work permit which will require a medical. Employers will not give you an interim permit to work you have to apply for a work permit before you arrive to Canada because a medical is required before TWP will be issued.
Thank you silver dragon for the reply.
*Normally how much time it takes to get obtain a LMO and approximate time seen in CNO assessment.
*secondly, I have also 120 hrs of A1 level french, PG certificate in Diabetes education to my credit. Do you suggest I should send that as well for assessment. But It wont be possible to get a transcript for that later one as it was only a six month course recognised by International diabetes federation.
Thanks....
LMO time frame varies, it is the company that wishes to employ you responsibility to apply for it and provid proof that the advertised the job, usually advertise is done for a few months.
French assessment and diabetes I doubt will be of use to the college as at the moment they are assessing your nurse training.
CNO is taking approx 12 months for assessment
