requirements on being a dialysis nurse

Unfortunatly everything within 50 miles is ran by DaVita both critical and acute. It really stinks because I think I would have been a great dialysis nurse if given the chance.

But not to worry, I already have a job in our local hospital in an IICU unit. That will bring me excellent experience and their training is top notch. The nurse manager and I get on like eggs and bacon. Without bad mouthing the dialysis center I made her aware of what the problems were and she assures me that that kind of thing won't happen there.

The worst problem is that I don't start until the 22nd and darn it I need a pay check!!! I'm hoping to do some PRN at a nursing home until then and then during my off time as I'll be working a 7 on/7 off schedule.

Congrats, ICU is great. And having a mgr you click with is priceless.

Your response to the requirements for a Dialysis nurse. I am in Arizona and I just got offered a job for DSI and will be trained in Tempe for 4-6 weeks and then after that I will be precepted for a total of 6 months before they will allow me to charge the unit. I am so very excited to be apart of this specialty. I believe there will be extensive training for you, they do require at least a year of med/surg. I would want that for assessment skills. hi angel, kamusta? i saw your thread about dialysis, i am interested of becoming a dialysis nurse. can you please give me advice, on what to do to become one, about training, do i need to be certified? and where in middlesex county do you work, i live in middlesex county and currently looking for a job. im hoping for your fruitful reply.
