Hi. Need your thoughts regarding my situation. I am currently on stage 2 of my NMC application and having problems if my work experience is valid. I have worked as a staff nurse for 9 months in 2006 then an accumulated 6 months as a nurse trainee ( 3 months in 2007 and another 3 months in 2008). I have atleast 12 months of work experience that the NMC requires but then they want an experience within the last 5 years.
It says on the employment reference forms that one reference for atleast 3 months of employment( within the last 3 yrs) another for atleast 12 mos continuous employment within the last 5 years.
What are my chances? Or has anyone in this kind of dilemma before? Thanks

Lots of countries require, I know I just managed to make it in Canada another couple of months I would have had to do a refresher course.
Have you practised at all in the last 3 years? This is what the NMC state on the website
When you apply you must have been practising as a registered nurse or midwife for at least 12 months (full-time or the part-time equivalent) after qualifying. Also, if you have been qualified for longer than this, you must have practised for at least 450 hours in the previous three years.
I have not been into nursing practice for the last three years. My last employment as a nurse was June 2008.
You may have some issues then if you haven't got 450 practise hours in the last 3 years but really only the NMC can say whether they will accept your application
