As far as I know, most non-science classes don't expire, so the main concern would just be whether or not your school takes them. In my experience, online classes have involved more essays than their full-time versions, simply because you don't also have in class discussions and participation, so the online classes make up for it by having you write more. Maybe not more full essays, but definitely more writing in general. Like others have said, look for programs that will take into account information you have already learned, and make sure its accredited (because there are a lot of online college scams out there).

Also, writing a paper requires one to do more than just read. there is active evaluation and scrutiny of the information involved.

While I understand not wanting to write papers, the articles that you research to write those papers is important. You have a choice in how you get your BSN. You can write meaningless papers just to "get it done". Or you can research articles that are meaningful to your current (or future) nursing practice and write a paper that is meaningful. The point of online education if for you to learn on your own. Whether or not you do that is up to you.

Has anyone done the MSN through WGU? I'm confused as to which online MSN program to go thru. I work full time and I'm 52 years old. Gotta get done sooner than later, lol. I am currently in the RN-BSN program at UA.
