I have been a nurse for about 7 years now and traveling for the past 2 years. I have never been reprimanded at work for anything or fired from any job.
I take a new drug screen every time I take a new contract every 3 months. In November I took a pre-employment drug screen for a new contract and it came back positive for benzodiazepines.
I have never had a positive drug screen in my life.
The travel company I was employed with refused to let me retest even just 2 days after the positive test. They referred me to TPAPN which I then refused to sign up for so TPAPN reported me to the Texas BON.
A week after the positive UDS I took another job with a different company and had no issues with the drug screen getting hired then.
I have an attorney to help me navigate this situation but I have no idea what I should expect.
My attorney requested my file from the BON and all it has is a copy of my resume, copies of all my travel contracts, references and all the drug screens with this company (8 drug screens total) and the one positive pre-employment one.
I have sent my attorney copies of my records from the job I was hired for right after this happened to send to the BON.
Does anyone have any insight as to if I should be doing anything else or what I should expect from this?

You could also talk to your lawyer and doctor about getting random UDS or hair follicle tests - to support the claim that you haven’t used and won’t in the future.
