Hello colleagues. Please bear the long read. It's necessary so you know the history
I managed to check my email this morning before pulling out of my driveway for work. I received a notification that my last employer turned me into the BRN. The background is I am an RN hospice speciality and left that employer before my 90 days was even up. I had major issues with personality and micromanaging to the point I felt it was harassment. The job I had was not patient hands on care. They had me working at a satellite contracted hospital where I was available to help with admissions to a GIP unit there withing the hospital. I had a supervisor who went on medical leave and left me messages via text indicating that I would be reporting to our non licensed marketer. I was with this company 2 months and they never managed to get clearance for me to be able to fully function within my job I was hired for. The hospital EMR was never available for me to do the required documentation. My supervisor who was on leave texted me the day I quit.( I had spoke to admin about my concerns and asked to move to another position in the company so I can actually care for patients. It was declined stating I needed to stay where I was. ) None the less, I was driving into my hospital and I got a message from my at home medical leave boss asking me to text her when I am there and report what unit I am on so she knows where I am at. This was the straw.... I messaged her back I am done. I have received 30-50 group text messages from this person and her marketer. I drove to the office and physically spoke to the executive director and another clinical supervisor. I told them why I as resigning.. they listened, admitted some issues but asked if I would resconsider. I said only if things will change, the answer was no. My Director stated he sees my mind was made up and I said it is. At no time did I hear they needed me to complete anything, and in fact I didn't have any patients under my care or waiting referrals. I handed in all my equipment and left. I never was never written up, nor did I have any counseling or performance improvement plans.
4 months later I get this complaint send to me It is alleged you engaged in unprofessional conduct, gross negligence and/or incompetence for failing to evaluate and admit patients properly. It is alleged you resigned from work without completing admission notes or updating leadership on pending patient referrals or documentation.
I feel this is completely retaliatory. I have malpractice insurance. But it is scary seeing this complaint. Does retaliatory complaints happen and what does the BRN do if its not warranted?
