Hi,
You may want to look into Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge. It is a large catholic hospital but was awarded the Hospital of the Year award by the LA state nursing association. They also have a school of nursing and offer tuition reimbursement/assistance for employees. If you decide to go to N.O., Oschners is a Magnet hospital. They also have branches in Baton Rouge. Good luck!
Hey I am from Louisiana, and my hubbie and I are both RNs and work at a Catholic hospital. Would not recommend it from my experience. I did have cardiac surgery at Ochsners in N.O. and the staff was amazing!! That would be my choice. They do have other sites, more than 1 in N.O. and also Baton Rouge. One of the sites in N.O. was amazing!

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me. I am relocating to LA to be closer to my family. I currently live in Philadelphia,PA. My mom is originally from Church Point, LA (its near Opelousas if you know where that is). Anyway My choices are Lafayette, Baton Rouge and I might consider New Orleans. Here are my questions....
1. Does anyone have any suggestions on hospital?
I currently work in a small community based catholic hospital. Small up here is 250 beds. I work on a post op floor that holds 27 beds.
2. What are the pay diff for each city if you know?
I have 1 year experience and am an RN
3. I need to find an RN-BSN program there
Thanks again
