Relocating to Fort Worth

Howdy! I am currently a tele nurse working in Houston and am planning to move to Fort Worth within the next year. I am very interested in ER. I have been a nurse for about 10 months now and I'm worried I will not be able to get a job in the ER due to my lack of experience. Any advice on how to increase my chances of transitioning to the ER? I do not plan on applying until I reach my one year mark.

To increase the chances of securing an ER position, be willing to commute to the outlying hospitals such as Weatherford Regional, Methodist Mansfield, Texas Health Alliance, Texas Health Azle, Huguley, North Hills Hospital, etc.

All of the hospitals I mentioned are in suburbs of Fort Worth and have small ERs. However, while everyone's attempting to get hired at JPS or Parkland, people are overlooking these smaller hospitals.

Thank you, I appreciate the advice!

Also consider that several of the hospitals TheCommuter mentioned are part of Texas Health Resources. Once you get in the system (say through one of the smaller facilities), it might be easier to transfer within the system.
