do not rehire?

Published

Hi All,

I worked at a hospital as an aide for 1 year and a half while in school. I quit this job my last semester of school to concentrate on school. I gave a two week notice and left on good terms.

I interviewed for a RN position last week and found out today I did not get hired. I was wondering if all went smoothly with my 2 week notice and if I was not entered as a quit without notice by the human resource department.

I have had problems in the past with paperwork through HR. I wonder if I should call HR and if they would give me that information. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you

As a new grad myself, I have found that most hospitals prefer experienced nurses when seeking employees. Maybe it had nothing to do with your past experiences at that hospital.

Also, with the job market nowadays, working at a hosptial as a CNA or other role is no longer the guaranteed "in" for nursing jobs that it used to be :(

I'm sorry you didn't get the job...and like the others, I agree: ask them nicely about why you weren't hired. Maybe it wasn't you, maybe it was...either way, you may learn something that you can use to better your chances at the next interview.
