Got an offer at a rehab, is this typical salary? What did you accept?

I passed my boards about a week ago. I interviewed at at an acute rehab and was made an offer within 2 hours of the interview. I just don't have more than 12 hours to think about it before they rescind the offer. It's full benefits, 401k, but the base is 28/hr. Is that typical for new grads? I'm reading some posts where offers were from 25-34 plus shift differentials and those posts were from 5-6 years ago. I'd hate to think I got hoodwinked just because I'm ignorant of what new grads are making now.

Any new grads mind sharing what they were offered, eventually accepted, and for which setting? Any experienced nurses want to throw in their 2 cents?

Thanks for the input :)

Pay rates in Florida tend to be 15 to 20 percent lower than the national average because people accept lower compensation in exchange for living in a desirable state and tourist destination.

You've probably heard the saying, "Florida is where you are paid in sunshine."

I'd definitely take pay in lieu of sunshine and tourists. It's not at all what it is cracked up to be.

I am in S. Florida & make $27/hr. as an RN with 38 years experience

I am in western NY. I started at 22.50/hr 4 years ago, in acute rehab at a local hospital. That was starting pay for any nurse at the hospital. I make $27/hr there now as a per diem RN (I moved to a different full time job, no longer in that healthcare system).

I used a cost of living website and there's only a 3% difference between Ft Worth and my city... so you are definitely getting a good wage compared to similar cost of living here, with our lower wages.
