Will a foreign BSN graduate still be a BSN degree holder if he/she will take ADN?

Nursing Students ADN/BSN

Greetings of peace! I'm a foreign BSN graduate from the Philippines and I applied for NCLEX here in California. Last February, I received a letter instructing me to take courses in Medical-Surgical, Obstetrics, and Psychiatric Nursing because of concurrency issue. I looked into accredited nursing schools and all of them informed me that I have to take their whole nursing program since the Medical-Surgical is integrated in the whole program. I want to know if going for the 2-year Associate's Degree in Nursing will do just fine to complete my aforementioned course deficiencies? Or do I need to take the whole 4-year BSN program? My concern is I am already holding a BSN degree in the Philippines (& when my transcripts were evaluated, the US academic equivalent is still BSN) but will I still be considered a degree holder of a BSN if I take the ADN program instead of the BSN once I have passed the NCLEX-RN here in California? Please give me some enlightenment on this matter so that I can decide what to do next. Thank you for your gracious assistance and prompt attention on this matter. God bless!

hello! how long is the bridge program for the lvn-rn?

It depends on where you'll be accepted. The person that I talked to, she's working as an LVN since 2012, then she'll start the LVN to RN bridging program this fall. She said it's just for 1 year. But prior to that she still took up some prerequisite subjects. So that's the idea.

More studying, and it's a pain. But she said the tuition is around 7k (in Junior College) which is more doable than the 14k-28k that other private schools offer for the MS&OB.

Although it's still not a BSN at the end but atleast there's a chance we can be RNs here.

I've been looking for a similar topic like this!!!!!! I got rejected by CA Board of Nursing so I'm planning to just take the ADN program even if I already have BSN in the Philippines. I think it's harder to find a school which will accommodate me if I'm only after completing units. I just got recently licensed in Texas as an RN but I really want to work in CA as an RN. Can you update me if you actually got into an ADN program? Thanks so much!!! You can also email me at: [email protected]. I really want to know :( Thank you!!

Hi! So did your friend finish the LVN to RN? Im curious if some of her nursing classes got credited or did she have to take all the nursing classes. How long did she do it? Is she an RN now?

Thank you in advance!
