ADN to BSN or ADN to NP?

I currently have a bachelor degree in sociology and an ADN. I'm interested in furthering my education mainly bc I know that hospitals are wanting to see a minimum of that BSN. I did a little research and because of my previous bachelor degree, I could do a NP in almost the same time as a BSN. My questions though is: I'm not sure i want to actually be a NP. I want to work as a bedside nurse for quite some time(only been doing it 6 mths but see myself doing it long term). Would I then be an over qualified bedside nurse?

In some instances, they will not consider you for an RN to MSN degree without a year experience. I personally am doing an RN to BSN program because it'll shave at least 10,000 off the MSN price tag whereas a BSN costs 5,000. I'll get my year experience in the meantime as I already have a job. So by the time I graduate, I'll have a year experience and be ready to apply to grad school.
