Hi! I'm Eva Lyn. I am a registered nurse in the Philippines. And, I am now working as an Au pair from a family in Switzerland. My contract will end on the 11th of March 2014, but my host family wants to take me to Germany to became their grandma's private nurse. Does anyone has an idea if what steps should I take for me to be able to transfer to Germany? Because for me it's a stepping stone for my careerr. Hope you can help me. Danke viel mal.

Are you fluent in German/medical German? There are a few threads in the international nursing section on becoming a nurse in German. But speaking/writing/understanding German is a requirement. Not sure a private individual could sponsor you for a work visa. Why not check with the German embassy?
Thanks for your reply JustBeachyNurse. I studied German here in Switzerland, but it's only for beginners level A1. Does the German Embassy has a link or account where I can ask online?

Registering as a nurse in Germany tends to be more where you will be living. There are a few threads discussing this in the Nurse Registration forum. You also have to think on getting a work permit allowing you to work in Germany so suggest you look up German immigration requirements at a government website
