Regarding grants and scholarsships

Hey Everyone,

I am currently pursuing a CNA certification as part of the pre-requisite for the nursing program of my local CC. I have a bachelor's degree in a non-nursing field from my native country.

Nursing is my second career choice.

So, I have to take almost all of the pre-reqs to be even considered for the program. I wanted to start that this Fall along with CNA classes, but due to financial reasons and a delay in filling out the FAFSA I could not.

So am looking to get started in Spring 2012. I filled out the FAFSA for spring already and my results came back about eligibility. It says I am not eligible for Pell Grant cause I have a Bachelor's but I can get loans.

I would ideally like to atleast know what are some grants and scholarships available to students like me, who have a Bachelor's degree already, who might not have necessarily completed that in America. I want loans to be an option definitely but not my first.

Is there anyone here in my situation? I cannot be the only such student!

It would be great if someone could point me in the right direction.

look at fastweb.com and zinch.com. you make profiles and according to that, you will have dozens and even hundreds of scholarship/grant matches. the hard part is actually writing the essays for them though lol. good luck =)

I'm not going to sugarcoat this - It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find grants and scholarships if you already have a Bach degree. Not saying you can't find them, but it's hard. Your best bet is to take out loans () or work for that extra money.
