Refusing an assignment

I have been reading with interest the thread about the CNA that is facing 60 years in prison. My question is ..... if you refuse and assignment because it may compromise patient safety is that grounds to be fired?

Yes, there is a possibility of being fired. Must notify Nursing supervisor immediately and NOT accept report to prevent being charged with abbandoment. Here are previous answers/resources to assist in decsion making process.
