Please excuse if this isn't in the right forum. Its been 5 years since I graduated and my license is currently in inactive status. I never actually worked as a nurse due to having a baby and then unexpectedly moving out of the country (we are a military family). We just moved back so I am looking for a refresher course to get my license active again. It's the clinical part I am really wondering about. The course I want to take requires a clinical site be set up before starting the self-study portion. Does anyone have experience with this or has advice? I keep reading how nursing jobs are hard to come by and I just don't see why some place would take on someone who still needs training. Is there a chance I can find a place to do the clinical portion? I will be in Washington state, Tacoma region if that matters.

I would start calling around. Your school should be able to tell you where other students have gone. Depending on the area, jobs are getting easier to get. It may not be in your preferred setting. Good luck
