The other night i was floated to the ER, and a nurse there had a small box of laminated index-sized cars that had English-Spanish questions, words and phrases on them. They pretty much consisted of every single question i've heard the nurses ask the pts.
My question is (can't ask that nurse, it just so happened that was HER last night and i never got to ask where the cards came from) is there anything that is MADE like this. I don't know if she created them herself or if she bought them from somewhere. Anybody know of a site where you can print out or buy preprinted cards like what i described?

After seeing your post I began to look on yahoo for this. On amazon.com there is a book entitled "Speedy Spanish for Nurses". I'm still looking for more because I think this would be helpful to us all.

I have a cassette set called Spanish for Healthcare and it is by Living Language, A Random House Company. I got this from Amazon.com and it has cassettes to listen to pronunciation and a handy reference book that is small enough to carry around with key phrases and sentences. I am trying to just get the basics and it is great so far - but I have just started to seriously listen to it. It cost $35.00 by ordering online.

I'm heading over to Amazon after I finish reading this board. Fingers crossed that they have a "Speedy French for Nurses" as well. We get quite a few French speaking patients (from Noumea) and most French phrase books are all but useless in a hospital situation.
