  1. I did that today. The group that is at same site as me helped me today. They said that they are not going to let me fail. We had a group today, gonna have one tomorrow, one on next Tuesday and Wednesday. I actually remembered a lot of stuff. It was nice to have some people to study with for a change and in the library even. No kids and no hubby around. Thanks for the advice you guys.
  2. Thanks you guys, you brightened an otherwise dreary day. I'm trying. Its hard but still hanging in there. :uhoh21:
  3. Its been great talking to you all, but I may not be on anymore. I am in my second semester and I may fail one class this semester, Med- surg. I have been trying so hard to pass and its down to the wire. I have 1 test and the final left. I can pass if I get about a 96 or 98 on both tests. I'm gonna try, but I don't know if it will happen. I am gonna try to transfer my classes and possibly go to another community college if I can get some financial aid. I was receiving WIA so if I do fail I have to pay for one semester myself before they will pay any more. I am going to really try to finish my schooling. You guys on the board have been very sweet and helpful to me and it is greatly appreciated. Just wanted to say thanks. If anyone has any suggestions for me please let me know. I need all the help that I can get.
  4. After your first semester in nursing school you are a CNA1. So it might be better to wait if you can't afford it. After semester 2 you are a CNA2, at least in NC.
  5. I think all med techs can do is give meds, not sure about Charlotte, but here you only give meds. At least thats what I have been told by people in LTC.
  6. Depends on where in NC you are. I am in Shelby and if you have a CNA license you can be a med tech also, but If you only have med tech thats all you can do. Besides CNA1 only takes 5 weeks at the CC.
  7. I don't think she has a leg to stand on. Just document what she is doing. She is just saying that to scare you into letting it go. Writing her up one time is nowhere near harassment especially if it was justified. Stick to your guns, you are her boss.
  8. Good nights sleep, breakfast in the morning and keep track of your time. Don't stress if you cant figure something out go to the next question.
  9. my daughter will be 3 in Oct. we discussed this very same thing with her doc a few visits ago. She told us to start making her say what she wanted instead of grunting and pointing. We were also to allow her to be near other kids for example at the park. that was right after she turned 2. Now she will not shut up!!!! just bear with your son he'll get there when he wants to not when you want him to.
  10. Where in NC are you? I have to pay for mine out of pocket. What school are you at?
  11. I have a friend who does weekends 3- 12 hour shifts, gets paid for 40 hours . She gets to put her daughter on the bus and be there when she gets home. I think that allows her time to be a great mom and also let her daughter spend time on weekends with other family members so she has the best all around.
  12. So where do I fall in this thread. I am neither 30 yet nor am I fresh out of high school. I think I am mature, but sometimes you need at least a little immaturity to get through the day. I am 28( will be 29 in 2 weeks), already have a BS degree in CDFR, have 2 children, been married for almost 7 years( been with him for 10). I don't think that I have a ton of life experience, but I think I have enough to be helpful in my future career.
  13. My question is this- Is a lift considered the same as implanting. I was thinking of implants also but all I think that I really need is a lift. I agree with the person who said talk to your family and research the surgeon. I happen to have a husband who thinks that I have a great body and supports whatever I would decide to do. Please research this thoroughly before doing anything. As long as it makes you happy thats all that matters. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" -Dr. Seuss
  14. After seeing your post I began to look on yahoo for this. On amazon.com there is a book entitled "Speedy Spanish for Nurses". I'm still looking for more because I think this would be helpful to us all.
  15. Ask your instructors about it. I am in nursing school and after we finished Fundamentals we were classified as cnas. Our director gave us forms to fill out where we did not have to take a test or pay for the license. After this semestesr we get to be cna 2s.
