I dont want to wait longer to take lvn class, while i still have the drive.if i wait another 3 years to continue my education i dont think i will hv the energy to do it :) so where r u working right now? Hospital, home care?
Masdeb,
I did show them my portfolio. .. the we're very impressed. Had me B print several things out (letters of reccomendation and accomplhments) for extra points. I have two years critical care experience in a level one trauma hospital. And I currently work for a private residence helping a dr with her husband who is a C4 Quadriplegic. I feel really good about the interview but you never know!

Masdeb,
Did you get the email stating rop is pushing back the deadline to December 17th? @7pm? Wth??? Why?? Why would they do that? Do you think they don't have enough candidates that they like? The email said "if you or anyone you know is interested in the rop lvn program please tell them"
I'm kinda confused and irritated
Two months ago when I signed up for the TEAS they told me they had about 80 applicants, then she went on to say its hard to say EXACTLY how many there are because there are 80 people who filled out the app but not necessarily turned in the packet.
its either one of two things:
1.) They didn't get enough people to turn in apps
2.) they didn't like enough of the first group.
either way it kinda makes me mad because we both worked really hard to have everything in and ready ON TIME!
I was also thinking the same thing Jen...we worked hard to get everything on time. I just hope they see it as an added point...it's really hard waiting without a clue of what is going on and they add this info to this stress...how come they dont pick out some people from 1st batch and some people from 2nd batch.that way people from the 1st one dont need to wait the whole month. I thought that's the reason why they have 2 pools...well i guess they have their own reasons and system :)

I'm going to annonomiously call tomorrow and ask. They probably just have a lack of qualified applicants. Oh well, in that case we should be a shoe in :)
OK masdeb,
I called anonymously and asked why the set back in app process and they QUICKLY responded with "we put out a flyer and had a huge response and when those possible candidates decided to apply they realized they had to get forms that would take a while we decided to extend it for their sake."
for their sake? That's not really OUR problem. we are the ones who took the time to research and apply with the allotted time. Still irritated.
Everyone I have spoken with has said the same thing we think: They needed more applicants. They had a VERY quick answer as to why they have extended the deadline.
That's unfair for people like us who REALLY want to get in, who research it and PREPARE everything ahead of time so we can be on-time,how about our sake??so I just hope the school consider us a shoe in.but i guess that's how the world work these days, people get it too easy lets just hope we're the chosen one from the 1st pool and they need some people to fill in the class.what is your plan b? R u going to apply again next year, or waiting for your RN program, or finding another lvn class?

Interview went really well... used the 30 minutes total. I feel good about it but you never know right? So what kind of experience do you have in the medical field?
