Recovery after 3x bypass

Hello. I was hoping to find out some information about recovery time after bypass surgery. My father had surgery on tues. March 29, and has still not 'come out' of it because every time he begins to he gets too combative and because of sutures, chest tube, etc. the staff is sedating him. Is this a normal amount of time or should I worry.He also recieved a valve replacement, aortic,. He is age 62 He has been sedated with haloperidol. Any comments or information would be appreciated. Thanks

Every surgery, every patient, every situation is different. I do hope you will ask these questions of your father's caregivers. That is the best way for you to get good information about his particular situation.
