Hi! I'm interested in reading fiction that has a nurse as a main character. What are your favorite novels that are nursing related?

I recently read The Ghost Boy by Martin Pistorius.
It is about a child who was a healthy normal boy until age 12 when he became seriously ill and unable to move or communicate.
It's a story about his experience with his caregivers. Some good, some not so good. Years later, he was able to communicate through the use of computers....thus the book.
It's not technically about a nurse but a book that is a good read and a good learning experience for any type of care giver.
A true story btw.

The "Call the Midwife" trilogy by Jennifer Worth. They are memoirs of her time as a nurse & midwife practicing in London's East End so they are historical rather than fiction, but very enjoyable to read. (They've also been turned into a BBC tv show, which while different from the novels is fun to watch).

"Drowning Ruth" by Christina Schwartz . Main character is a nurse in 1919- and a crazy one at that!
