Starting home hospice in a few weeks ... what BP monitor (automatic) and thermometer would you recommend I get for my visits? Thanks in advance!

I have an omron wrist manometer and it works fine as long as the patient remains still. Also I use a cheap Walgreen temporal thermometer, works fine. I do however, keep a full sized cuff and a rectal thermometer with me if I get weird readings.

I would not recommend any automatic BP machine - not accurate enough.
Your agency will supply you with BP cuff and O2 sat. I also got single use thermometers. Some families would buy an electronic one but the paper ones with the dots worked just fine.

My company did not provide any equipment, other than the computer and cell phone. I purchased the Exergen temporal thermometer - and I love it. I was using the Omiron wrist cuff, but honestly, the readings became less reliable the longer I used it. Therefore, I now use the old-fashioned manual kind and I really like it. Not only do I know the reading is accurate, but there is a certain connection when touching the pt while using the cuff, and that is comforting to the pt. I find hospice is about the personal connection, which builds trust, and brings pts comfort.
