Any suggestions will help :) I have looked at way too many book reviews and websites. I would appreciate opinions

I am starting out as a new grad in SICU and asked one of our surgeons which books they recommended for this unit. The ICU book by Marino is a great staple for working in the ICU and the other is perioperatove care of cardiac surgery. Hope this helps. Oh many of the nurses in my unit also have the fast facts for Critical Care book it's good for reference but it is too detailed to read to gain a good understanding of rationales. I also use the up to date app many of the physicians use this to stay updated on current guidelines as well.

Really, Marino's is all you need. Unless your unit is almost exclusively CVT, Marino's covers it well enough. The perioperative book goes quite a bit into the weeds, and CV patients tend to be very formulaic in their clinical course.
