Perhaps 10 or 15 years ago, you would take the NCLEX, you get a grade, and depending on your state requirements, your grade gave you a pass or fail score for licensing. For example, you might score a 75 which would be acceptable in Florida, but not acceptable in New York or California because they would require a score of 80 to get a license in their state. (I don't recall the exact test score for different states, I am just using a grade for different states as an example). Is this still the process for nurses to get licenses in different states from where they were originally licensed? I would think it is a streamlined process with the prevalence of travel nurses, just curious. Does anyone have a list to post of states with reciprocity- I am particularly interested in requirements for reciprocity of NY and CA nurses. Thanks.

NCLEX has reciprocity but when moving from one state to another to live you have to apply for a license in that state and meet their requirements for endorsement

I didn't know there was a score. All I know is that I passed.
NCLEX is a national exam (note N in NCLEX means national) and it's accepted in all 50 states. It's very rare that a license issed in one state isn't endorsed (meaning you pay money) in another state and a new license issued.
