I recently got charged with an underage drinking ticket, public intox and unlawful use of an ID, it was a huge mistake and nothing that has ever happened to me before. (I have never even had a traffic violation) I have recently been accepted to nursing school and I am terrified that I might be kicked out. I am a good student have a high GPA, a job at a hospital and no previous records. I haven't been officially convicted of anything yet, and have a court date in April. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am really scared and have wanted to be a nurse my entire life, I take full responsbility but I am so worried about my future now and I am full of regret.

It would be good to contact your nursing director immediately. Only they would be able to tell you if this will show up on future background checks as a negative. You don't want to waste your time and money in your block one of nursing school just to be dismissed before your second. And you may find that this will not dismiss you.
It shouldn't show up on your record until you are either convicted or plead to something. Also make sure to have a good lawyer. They may be able to work out a plea to reduce the charges but only a lawyer could advise you in that way.
Also keep in mind that certain charges may not keep you from completing nursing school, but your state BON can still decline you, s you may want to contact them as well, or make sure you get a lawyer familiar with your BON and regulations after you graduate. GL
