Hello
I recently broke my ankle in three places and required numerous screws and plates on July 5. I have been out of school for two weeks and expected to return This monday. i am so nervous in that I have missed so much and midterms are in two weeks, not to mention that I have clinicals the end of August. Please any supporting advice would help. Nursing is my dream but I feel like I may be too far behind.

Is it possible to start in the next semester? I broke my ankle too & it took me a couple of months after I got my cast off to get back to normal.

I too broke my ankle the way you described, with plates and screws etc. It too a few months, I'd say at least four to be walking without crutches. Even then, I had to put my feet up for all the swelling. I hate to say it, but you may be better off to wait till next semester and take some time for PT and self care.

I would take a leave of absense and get your spot in next semester saved for you rather than risk failing out bc you can't do clinicals and then get booted out

I agree with others. Maybe you need to start next semester. You saftey should come first and for you to perform well in clinicals you need to have good ankles.
