Reapplying to take nclex in CA. How long does it take to get ATT after paying on Pearson?

Published

I recently took my nclex and did not pass it. I resubmitted my application to take the nclex again the day I found out I did not pass. I paid for Pearson because I had heard from some of my friends that they got their ATT quicker that way. I am in the state of California. How long does it normally take to get the ATT. I want to schedule my test as soon as possible after my 45 days and do not want a test date to get filled up. Please let me know if anyone knows.

oh wow! 2 months is a long time. Do you know if there is anything I can do to speed up the process? I took my nclex July 23 and my 45 days will be Sept 6. My dream job starts September 17 I am really hoping and praying for a miracle! I heard that I could file a complaint with the Department of Consumer affairs (DCA) after the 45 days is up because the BRN is under them so they have to investigate all conplaints. I read on some posts people were in the same situation as me and they made a complaint on the 46th day about how they needed the BRN to process their application because that had a pending job offer and it was crucial that they take this exam again and they got a call from the DCA and was able to schedule their exam a few days later. I think I will try this because I am so desperate.

I would try! It doesn't hurt. I couldn't file that type of complaint because I did not have a specific job lined up. But I will say that the initial reapplying part per their website says it takes 10-12 weeks to process and they did mine in about 8 weeks, so I am grateful. I did not call or go into the BRN. Just prayer, good thoughts and checking my breeze and pearsonvue. My pearsonvue said something along the lines of "recognizing" that I had paid for the exam but needed the OK from the board to provide me the ATT number. I did take the exam again and passed, so i have faith you will do great as well!

Wow that is so amazing Congratulations I am so proud of you!! How did you study the second time around? I hope to be in your shoes soon! I complained to the DCA, but I think i am going to complain to them on the 46th day because I do not think they can do anything before the 45 days is up. I have been praying for a miracle so please keep me in your prayers. I did call the BRN. Do you think they would hold up my application because I was calling to ask about my application?

Thank you! I did buy UWORLD the 1st time around, and everyone that I spoke to said it was what helped them pass. Mine expired and I didn't want to pay for it again. I went in to the BRN the day after I received my letter to drop off something and was able to speak to them, saying that I needed my license by a specific date for school and all she could tell me was that there still needed to be a 45 day wait period. I just explained my situation. It was around the time my school was graduating another class and I asked if it was possible to just put my application in with those because its from the same school but she informed me someone completely different tackles the reapplications. But I don't think it would matter about calling, I can't imagine they are able to do anything like that. Ill defiantly be praying for you :) If you want to speak to them in person, go in. I went in super early, like when they opened and no one was there so I was able to sit and talk to them for as long as i needed.

Thank you so much for getting back to me. I am not able to go into the main office because it is about 6 hours from where I live. They probably will tell me the same thing that it will take 10-12 weeks for my application to process. How did you study the second time around? I am just going to continue to study hard every day and pray for a miracle. I just need to get my ATT soon... Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

Ah I see that is very far! Mine was about 20-30 min so it wasn't a big issue. But honestly all I can say is prayer, and God helped me out the second time. I did feel a lot different coming out of that exam but I was stressed the entire time. I would say know who you are as a learner and how you learn. Even If everyone says do this do that, look back on your time in nursing school and see what best helped you. If its writing things out, do that. If its typing it out like a study guide do that after remediating. Im no expert trust me lol

oh wow that is nice that you were close by! I have been praying nonstop and just busy studying for this exam. How did you study for the exam second time around?

I defiantly suggest using a priority book, and do more and more select all that apply questions. I had so so so, and I mean so many priority questions and about 50-60 SATA on my exam (all 265 questions). Any word back from the BRN? Still praying for you!

I bought the Lacharity Prioritization/delegation book and studying this time around is like night and day. My scores on uworld are staying consistently over 60s. No i have not heard anything yet and my 45 days is up this thursday. On the 46th day I am going to make a complaint to the Department of Consumer affairs (DCA). I did my research and read on some posts how after they complained on there then they got a call a few days later and was able to schedule their exam. I am really praying for a miracle. I want to take this exam and just pass it! :) Thank you so much! I appreciate it! I cannot wait to be in your shoes

That's so good to hear! Yeah I had a ton of priority, delegation, infection control, etc. Also a ton of OB, which i thought was odd lol I also ended up having 4 math questions and i believe 2-4 EKG strips so look over those as well! I know you will do great!

Oh wow!!! That is odd I feel like I had a mix of everything! How many questions did you get? 2-4 strips? dang... I think i got a couple too the first time. I really need to pass it this time around. Did you feel confident leaving your exam?

What scores were you gettjng on uworld? I have been studying consistently every single day! Have you heard of mark klimek? I have been listening to his lectures and they are so helpful! He is amazing
