I am a student at a local community college. I tried to do the 4-year school thing but I was ready for it. I enrolled into a Community College and decided to apply to the ADN program. I have all my pre-req execpt Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology. I will be taking the TEAS Testing within the next couple weeks. I am scared to death. What if I don't do well, what if I don't have enough points to get into the nursing program. I am trying really hard and I have got A's and B's and a couple of C's in my pre-req's so far. I just need some advice, stress relievers, and/or confidence boosters. I want to make something of my life and I always wanted to be apart of the healthcare field helping people.
Answer your questions....what if you don't do well on the TEAS? Worse case scenario...you take it again. What if you don't have enough points? Bring your application to a counselor and figure out together what you can do to get more points before you apply again.
My point is, that none of these things will be an end to your dream....worst case scenario is a detour. So, take a deep breath, do the best you can and then take it from there.
I decided to become a nurse after I got a BA in psych. I had to start all over. Nothing I had done in the psych program overlapped with any RN program (except English...ha ha). Anyway, I had to WANT to be an RN...no matter what. The community colleges at that time were completely on a lottery system...so I went for the BSN. It made for sense. Perhaps you might think about that option if you don't do well. Some private BSN programs are actually not as competitive and...although they can be expensive you might be surprised how easily their financial aid departments work miracles.
Just keep telling yourself...I want to be a nurse.
I will be a nurse.
No matter what.

80% is not bad, what is the minimum score required for the school you are applying? Is the school gpa based or lottery based? if its based on GPA, then it isn't competitive enough, really depends on how many percent the TEAS counts toward your overall grades. If its lottery based, then you are fine.
Good Luck!! just take a deep breath!! >
