I am a student at a local community college. I tried to do the 4-year school thing but I was ready for it. I enrolled into a Community College and decided to apply to the ADN program. I have all my pre-req execpt Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology. I will be taking the TEAS Testing within the next couple weeks. I am scared to death. What if I don't do well, what if I don't have enough points to get into the nursing program. I am trying really hard and I have got A's and B's and a couple of C's in my pre-req's so far. I just need some advice, stress relievers, and/or confidence boosters. I want to make something of my life and I always wanted to be apart of the healthcare field helping people.

maybe get a TEAS prep-book from the bookstore, this will help you get used to the type of questions you'll be asked and give you a feel for what to expect. Try to relax and take some deep breaths, it seems like you're doing everything right so far.
Thank you. I will make sure to take your advice.

I would remove all the "what ifs" from your life and just tell yourself "I can do it."
I have been there and I know how you feel. Trust me, "what ifs" really get in the way of succeeding.
Good Luck!

Answer your questions....what if you don't do well on the TEAS? Worse case scenario...you take it again. What if you don't have enough points? Bring your application to a counselor and figure out together what you can do to get more points before you apply again.
My point is, that none of these things will be an end to your dream....worst case scenario is a detour. So, take a deep breath, do the best you can and then take it from there.

dont you need the pre-reqs DONE (anatomy, physio & micro) before you get accepted?
Why are you taking the TEAS now?
To answer your question, don't worry, you'll do fine
No, my school lets you apply even if your pre-req aren't completed. I just don't want to wait a whole year just to complete two classes.
Thanks so much you guys. You have no idea how much you have helped me. I will keep you posted about my application status and TEAS scores.:)
I received an individual score of 80% on my TEAS Exam today. I am super excited but I wanted to know is this a good score Is this?

I decided to become a nurse after I got a BA in psych. I had to start all over. Nothing I had done in the psych program overlapped with any RN program (except English...ha ha). Anyway, I had to WANT to be an RN...no matter what. The community colleges at that time were completely on a lottery system...so I went for the BSN. It made for sense. Perhaps you might think about that option if you don't do well. Some private BSN programs are actually not as competitive and...although they can be expensive you might be surprised how easily their financial aid departments work miracles.
Just keep telling yourself...I want to be a nurse.
I will be a nurse.
No matter what.

80% is not bad, what is the minimum score required for the school you are applying? Is the school gpa based or lottery based? if its based on GPA, then it isn't competitive enough, really depends on how many percent the TEAS counts toward your overall grades. If its lottery based, then you are fine.
Good Luck!! just take a deep breath!! >
