Way too much inputting, and they are time consuming! We had Medfusion infusion pumps before and we just put in our weight and dose, the pump already had the time and all this other info we are having to input into these Alaris pumps already in there! Ugh.
Just had to vent...does anyone dislike this pump, or do we just need to work with it. What a day.

Yes, they are a little time-consuming to set them up initially, but after using the pumps for almost a year now, I actually like them. It gets easier to set them up with practice. I also think they look much cleaner and better than our old pumps.

We just got them hospital wide in December and at first I was a little hesitant. But now I LOVE them. We have been able to get pharmacy to be more accurate now too! Specially with our small volume meds since the pump is able to read the amt of drug in the syringe!

I really don't like them!! We had an admit the other day that needed a 30 ml bolus over 30 min. The pump would not let us do it and we were under IV boluses. We had to run it over 40 mins. Have to find out why this happened.
I agree we have to enter way to much info. In an emergency it is important to be able to get fluids and meds in quickly.
