Ready!!!!

Greetings, everyone!

I am pursuing a career in Nursing I need these Preq's:

Accelerated Nursing Prerequisites

Natural Science Prerequisites

Anatomy and Physiology I with Lab: 4 credits

Anatomy and Physiology II with Lab: 4 credits

Chemistry I with Lab: 4 credits

Microbiology with Lab: 4 credits

This is going to be tough. However, finally I am ready to accomplish my dream of becoming a nurse!!!!!!

Has anyone took Chemistry 1 with lab?- SOUNDS REALLY HARD!!!

Does anyone know of any other accelerated RN program with less preq's than the above must have's? ANY INFORMATION IS WELCOME..... I NEED HELP, was going to do a two year RN but it makes no sense, I already have a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts (Sociology/Psych).

Also, thinking about LPN program that way I will have all my prereq's but that will take 2 years part-time. Then I would move on to accelerated program--- that makes no sense neither.

Can someone please help me straighten this out? PLEASE-THANK YOU.

Chemistry isn't to bad if your good at math. As for the pre reqs those are the same as a simple two year (un-accelerated) RN program. I could be wrong and every school is different but I'm pretty sure you will need those no matter where you go.

Uh not good in math at all

Specializes in Leadership, Psych, HomeCare, Amb. Care.

All the courses are going to look hard going in, but they are all doable. I used to buy the texts, look through them, and wonder how I was going to learn everything, but I got through it by taking it one piece at a time. The labs are generally, follow the directions

You can always get a head start by going online and viewing videos on YouTube or from Khan University.

Good luck.

Think about it like this:

How would you feel about a nurse taking care of you that didn't take those classes?

Chem1- building block for alot of science courses

A+P- Understanding the body

Micro- microorganisms.... bacteria, viruses, etc.

They can be rough classes but I think its worth it. Stick it through. I don't think any nursing programs will allow to get out of those (possibly micro) but would you want them to?

And find people to study with! Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. Try to find some people who are good at what you struggle with and vice versa. It'll help keep you on track, motivated, and there's something oddly gratifying about having someone to complain about a hard test, or celebrate a good score with!
