Nurses Career Support

Help me!!! This is my first time posting here so here goes--I have been out of nursing now for nearly 5 years(actual hands on) since then I have been a practicing massage therapist. My dilemma is this: I love nursing and want to get back into it but at this point I am not hireable. Skill rusty etc... Another issue is this-in nursing school I feel I did not have the most educational patients in clinicals and I feel I did not really learn what I needed to learn which has made me very low in self esteem. I have never worked in a hospital after graduation either. What oh what can I do to get this ball rolling again? :thankya:I have been out of school since 1994. Ya know-I didn't even learn how to actually put on EKG leads-only on paper. Any suggestions will be really appreciated.

You might consider going for a BSN or MSN. That would freshen your resume.

You might also see if you can find a clinic that provides healing touch therapy or therapeutic massage. That could help you to network. You could also see if you could drum up some in-patient massage work in an effort to network in the units.
