I'm a nursing student in CA who completed her first 2 semesters of RN school, but unfortunately, I had to go on a family/emergency leave after that. I ended up dropping out of the last 2 semesters.
Now, since I did do two semesters at an accredited school and passed. Am I eligible to take/challenge the NCLEX-PN?
I know that after your 1st semester in RN school, you may challenge the CNA test and become certified without having to go to a separate CNA program.
Has anyone heard of this? Or even better- has anyone done this?
You start with finding out if this is allowed in your state. State's website for the BRN will give this info. If allowed by policy, then you inquire at your school. Just because your state allows it, does not mean that your school will process your paperwork to test.
