3rd semester OB

Hello all............I'm entering 3rd semester starting Aug 27th....which is OB and ...........Can anyone share their likes and dislikes about OB and ............Or share some helpful tips,hints,websites,or videos??? Thanks in Advances.

i loved my rotation. but when i was in this, i had a lot of ppl tell me they were bored. i dont know if it was really like that or not. i am a very outgoing person, and when i was in school i really made it known to instructors and the floor nurses that i wanted to do and see everything i could. i would even ask if i could just follow them if i didnt have anything going on. i believe you just have to be proactive in everything and will get way more experiences.

In my OB rotation (2nd semester), we didn't do a lot either. There was a lot of observing the nurse, who was observing the fetal strips...that did get boring.

I saw several births, which was amazing...and gross.

However, I got to watch an anesthesiologist place four epidurals, and he let me hand him stuff and get really close, so I felt very lucky. And then I got to place foley caths in the women. That was good skills practice.
