Rasmussen University, Here I come!

Published

I am a pre-nursing student.I am pretty much set to go to Rassmusen college.I know a few nurses who went there and they say it was wonderful and very good. They say they got jobs quickly and are pursuing or have pursued a BSN.The ASN program is 50,000,but I find that my time is worth way more then my money.Im not blowing money away but I am set to go hereIt will take less then two years and I dont have to wait for a three year waiting list. The people there are very nice, nicer then some other colleges I have looked at.Anybody know anything about the New Port Richey campus?

I went to the nursing information session this past month and i need to tell you. I have never been so TURNED off in my entire life!

I will refrain from mentioning the woman's name who did the session, but she was awful. rude, sarcastic, and condescending. Some of the people who showed up were just as rude and the session leader allowed the behavior.

Also, every question asked should have been answered respectfully, not with an irritated eye roll or with vagueness. If your school is so great than any question should be answered with confidence and shown in writing. 50,000 is a HELL of a lot of money for an ADN, especially when community college might cost you $8,000.

information sessions are a little preview into the school. This woman who lead the session was VERY high up at the college here at the Joliet/Romeoville campus. Her behavior is a representation of Rasmussen and I can say, i will go the extra year and go to the community college. I wouldn't give Rasmussen a dime after that session.

Specializes in Critical Care.

Hi. How is the program?

Specializes in Neonatal, Peds, Womens' Health, and Ment.

Currently, a student and I like it. I would suggest that you do your prerequisites elsewhere then enter in. My total cost came out to be a little over 21,000. I have my reasons why I chose this program and one main one being that I have two kids to support and I can't do that off of a CNA salary without working crazy overtime. I feel like people on this post are saying they aren't attacking you for your decision but I feel like they are, and I hate that. I know numerous nurses who have graduated from Rasmussen, and none of them regret their decision, all of them have gainful employment and are living their best lives, and yes they can take vacations, and yes even two of my friend who graduated years ago drive luxury cars. I applaud you all who are being financially literate and concerned but add your two cents without throwing stones. We'll all end up at the same places of employment, and you'll see Rasmussen students are just as satisfied with their education as you are.

As a current nursing student at Rasmussen Ft Myers, FL, I'm very frustrated right now. Imagine retaking a class for 0.5 point. Imagine having to repay $3000 dollars for 0.5 point!!! If you have to work, this is not the school for you. They should take into account that most of their students are working adults with bills to pay, who often have to pay out of pocket or who are not eligible for financial aid... All they care about is their bottom line. This is not surprising after all they're for profit. We are a group of about 12 or so who failed for 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or 1 point we went all the way up to VP with no success. The Dean of the Ft Myers campus, Deanna Wolfskeil can be your worst nightmare as a student. In case you guys don't know, this school grading method is made to trap you: 1- NO ROUDING UP! 77.99999999 is 77 SAY WHAT!? Which school would fail a student for 0.000001, 0.25 or 0.5!!!?? To my knowledge I only one: Rasmussen College. 2- grades are: A (94-100), B (85-93), C (78-84) and F (0-77.9999). Now let's take a look back, notice there is no A+, A-, B+, B- so on and so fourth... This is where the trap is, by doing so Rasmussen basically forces you to stay if you failed a class like pharm which you could transfer to another school had you gotten a C (75-77).

Now my graduation is pushed back 03/19. I blame myself so much for not taking into account all the bad reviews I read about Rasmussen before enrolling.

Hi, I am going to do my prerequisites in a community college. Can you tell me how your cost is 21,000? I thought it would be 40,000?
I am planning to go to Rasmussen also. Thanks!
