So I’ve been a LPN for 3 years. I’ve been trying to get back into school for LPN TO RN BRIDGE!!! They are calculating my gpa which was a 0.4 when I first went to college fresh out of high school. It’s brought my gpa down a lot. So now I’m getting denial letters left and right. My gpa with those grades is a 1.9 where at the school of nursing I went to it is a 2.5. I’m just losing all hope and faith!!
I have a few mishap grades myself and what I did was apply to a college that most don't want to drive too. I was able to get into an LVN to RN bridge without any problem and not once did the Nursing Counselor ever ask why regarding any C or W grade. It's called life and stuff happens. If you are an LVN/LPN than it should be presumed that one is working and being given credit for this. Sure, I have A's on my record too but things happen that are out of one's control. A high GPA student can just be a good test taker but it doesn't mean he/she will make a great nurse. Just my opinion. I wouldn't give up and for fact, I did not. Keep looking and apply to schools that you are willing to wake up at 4am for. Best of luck to you!!!

My advice:
Contact a university LPN to BSN program and see if they have a "begin again" type program. Many colleges have these. Instead of simply applying, schedule an appointment to speak to an advisor.
Sometimes they'll have you take a couple of allied health classes and base an admission decision based on your performance.
I don't advise anyone running up a massive debt at a private school. Too many stories on here on how they can't get them paid back.
