I'm unsure if I'm in the right place.

Does anyone experience random drug tests at their hospitals? I know some places say they random test but is it just a scare tactic? If you have or have not please explain your experiences, thank you!

:mad::confused:

Even if your workplace does not have random drug testing, you may still be required to take a drug test:

If you hold a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), you are subject to random drug testing.

Your workplace may require drug testing if you are involved in a vehicle accident, even if there are no injuries, it occurs on private property, and there is no police report. If you are using a company vehicle, your employer's insurance may require drug testing for accidents as a condition of coverage.

You may be required to under drug testing if you are injured on the job.

I would not count on be able to avoid a drug test if it is only done for cause, either. All it would take would be a supervisor or fellow employees who are suspicious, or perhaps just do not like you. I have even read of drug testing being used in order to reduce the workforce (and not have to pay unemployment, would be my guess). One company required all of its employees to take an unannounced drug test. Anyone who did not, for any reason (had to pick up kids from childcare, etc.), was fired.
