Rady Children's Hospital New Grad RN Spring 2025

Published

Just a wanted to get a post started so we can share updates for the Rady Children's Spring 2025 new grad cohort! Good luck everyone! 😊

I just received rejection email. I had interviews with 3 East. So sad but I'm going to apply for Summer 25! Congrats to those who got offers:)

I recently received my rejection letter as well after interviewing and completing the reference request. Congrats to those that received offers!

Hi! I'm applying to heme/onc & was wondering if you had any tips or anything you think made you stand out in either your resume/cover letter or even the LOR!  thanksss!

Does one application account for all the units we're interested in? I am considering MBU and Medical. Would I apply for those separately with tailored letters of rec, or is it fine to apply to one (with our list of priority/preference including both MBU and Medical) and potentially have 2 separate interviews for either unit if granted the opportunity? Thank you.

For those who got an offer from RCH, how many references did they ask for & do they need to be from anyone specific? (obvi not family member) thanksss

For those that had interviews, would you mind going over some of the questions they asked? Thank you!!

Hi everyone! I accepted a position on medical at RCH. Congrats to everyone else who will be part of this cohort. I am looking forward to meeting you all.

Congratulations!! May I ask what you believe made you standout in terms of your resume? Did you have peds experience, externship, or hospital experience? Was it your first time applying? Did you do clinicals at this hospital/unit during nursing school?

For those of you who got accepted into the program do you mind sharing some information about your resume or prior experience? Im trying to figure out how to make myself a competitive application for the Summer cohort!

For those of you who were hired, do you mind sharing whats on your application that makes you a competitive candidate? Im planning on applying for the august start date and want to be doing whatever I need now to stand out. I have my ACLS, BLS, NIHSS and working on PALS and NRP certifications. I was a CNA for 3 years at sharp memorial in oncology. I am doing an externship at a hospital in Phoenix while finishing my last semester of nursing school. I am worried that because I didn't go to school in San Diego I won't have the same connections that those who did clinicals at scripps might have.

Im most interested in the ED, however im thinking it might be easier to get into telemetry since this is where im doing my externship so I have some experience in this unit.

Is there any other certifications I should be trying to get for ED or Tele?

Thank you in advanced!

Hi guys, for those whose waiting for any updates, I just received and accepted an offer today for heme/onc! For reference, I interviewed with them on Dec 4th and didn't get the email for reference literally until last week. I don't want to give false hope but I was literally hopeless and reluctantly accepted the fact that I got rejected after not hearing from them for more than a month but then this happened 😭 I hope others receive good news soon too!

Congratulations, this is so incredible for you! Can I ask what your background was and if you had any hem/onc experience on your resume?
