I wonder if this is an inexperienced manager who is in over her head and had no idea how to manage a staff.
I would set a date in the future, say 3 months, and if conditions do not improve in that time, apply for another job. It couldn't hurt to have your resume updated and do some looking around at the job market in the meantime so you will be prepared.

Hello all! I've been a long time lurker and decided to create an account. I have a new (well, not really new anymore) supervisor who uses the response, "I inherited this!" whenever we ask her what she's going to do to make our working conditions safe and tolerable at a busy LTC facility. My question is, after so many months, when will she go from inheriting a problem to owning it and fixing it? Things have gone from bad to worse, no one wants to take any responsibility, and the turnover rate is horrible. The residents are the ones who really matter and they are suffering! Has anyone else experienced a new manager that is unwilling to do the job they signed up for?
