I found this book while picking up my Davis's Drug Guide. "How to Survive Clinicals," by Diann L. Martin PhD, RN. It is advice from Nursing Students and Instructors who have been there. It's basically a bunch of quotes of advice. I am going to highlight my fav's and look through them before and while in clinicals- I already feel better. It's only 12.95 at Borders....

I have a similar one, written and published for Australian students. It's called "The Clinical Experience" (I think). It's relatively good, too. It covers everything you needed to know short of what it really does feel like to get out on the floor before your first clinical (and subsequent).

Yep, it's a good one. Reading (memorizing) it right now!
Me too! I think the quotes are settling. I feel like the advice is GREAT! Especially from the instructors view, I always wonder what they will be thinking!!! For some reason, and I won't be starting clinicals until October, I feel like when they do get here, I will be able to take on what comes my way w/ the notes I have been taking from my reading.

I have never seen that book before, however, I always walk with confidence on the floor. I try my best to absorb as much as I can and also do the best I can for my patients. Now that I am almost done, I really do not need that book but I will introduce it to those friends I know who are about to enter the nursing college.
