Does anyone else agonize over what they possibly did wrong, or how they could have done something better? Does anyone else fear for a patient's outcome and feel miserable, like it's their fault, if things don't go right? Does anyone else feel responsible for things that happen? Why is this job so consuming...I wish I didn't feel this way, but I do. Is it the nature of the beast? How do you get over it, or how do you recoup if something goes bad????

VAmedic, you have illustrated in life so much is out of our hands. When the outcome is negative, we can always assume a different action would have brought more positive results. But some times, there may have been a even more devastating situation if we had acted differently. I can not even imagine the decisions you all have to make in a given day, but I do believe that you can't carry the burden of second guessing on top of all your other responsibilities. No one has shoulders that large.
Well, Someone does!
