Quitting the UC Davis Medical Center Volunteer Question

I've taken over a majority of the work load left by a former employee at my job, which has left me no time to volunteer anymore in the UCD Medical Center Cardiology department. Will this unforseen event have significant negative repercussions in my future employment options in nursing or any other health care profession? Has anyone had a similar set of events?

Did you commit to a particular time period of volunteer service? If you did and have not met that commitment I would sit down with you supervisor and explain your situation. If you have to leave then you leave. But make sure you do it in a professional manner.
