Quinnipiac ABSN 2020

Hello all! The application cycle is open and I wanted to start a thread for anyone applying so I can stop re-reading previous years threads, haha. My application is pretty much finished but I'm waiting for this semester to end so I can add my A&P II grade to the app. How is everyone doing with their apps? Also, any previous or current students input would be great :-). Good luck everyone!

Hello,

I am almost done as well. I just need to work on my personal statement and waiting to finish up A&P II grade.. Not feeling so great about this grade but hopefully I end it with an A and not a B. how are you doing?

Hi busra, I applied to another program with a deadline that is Thursday so I am just going to reword my SOP a little then otherwise waiting for the grade too. I'm getting an A so far, so hopefully it stays that way. I unfortunately am going to have to cross my fingers on a conditional acceptance as I will be taking micro in the spring. Based on past threads it is not out of the ordinary. My stats are pretty good (with the exception of grades from 15 years ago, haha). Best of luck to you and sending positive vibes on your A&P II grade finalizing as an A.

Hey everyone! I applied to the program back in late November pending a few courses that I was asked to take. My applications complete and I am just waiting to hear back. Does anyone know what the typical turnaround time normally is? Here's what I had grade wise!

Undergrad GPA: 3.02

A&P 1: A-

A&P 2: A-

Lifespan: A

Micro: B-

Stats: A

Chem: B

If anyone had any advice or personal experience I would love to hear from you! Thank you and good luck to everyone!

From creeping on previous threads people were notified anywhere from end of Feb to mid March. Your stats look great. Are you applying to other programs that require Lifespan since QU does not? I went to 2 info sessions and my undergrad is from QU so I may have some answers.

Undergrad: 3.9

A&P I: A-

A&P II: A

Biostatistics: A

Micro: Taking spring 2020

Hi! Yes a lot of other programs asked for a psychology that had to do with the lifespan. So psychs such as abnormal, cognitive or just psych 101 were not accepted. I took it this fall and it was interesting but most programs require it. QU was one of the ones that took one of the ones I already had. You have great stats and micro is super interesting!

Hi Everyone, I heard the Turnaround time is Mid march, so lets all hope for the best.

Good luck!

Hi everyone!

I also applied for this cycle, so anxious to hear back! Looking back on a few threads of the past, it seems we would hear back anywhere from mid February to late March. Lets hope for the first option!

Good luck!

Does anyone have an idea of how many applicants the QU ABSN program gets a cycle and how many spots they have available? Has anyone talked to admissions yet about when they start sending out the first wave of decisions? I applied on January 2nd. Am I on the later end to hear back?

From my notes from an info session:

Last year they received approx. 380 applications and accepted 62-63 students for the 55-65 slots that they have available.

Based on past posts it didn't matter how late/early you applied everyone heard randomly.

I rescinded my application to QU, good luck to everyone.

My application changed to "Checklist Complete" today! Hopefully that means we will have decisions relatively soon!

Hi all! I also applied to the 2020 cohort. I applied for the 2019 cohort as I had just completed my undergrad but was not offered a spot. I retook both A&P I and II and got an A in both (previously a C in both, lol) as well as worked as a PCT in a hospital. So, fingers crossed! I also saw checklist complete. Super nervous and excited!
