OK I admit it, I am very anxious to start the LPN program in Sept. I have been reading all these posts about care plans and clinicals and all kinds of stuff, but I hear it's all specific to the program...
Can anyone that has gone through the program (or at least the first semester) let me know what it's like. Where are your clinicals? What are they like? How many classes are you taking at one time? What are the hardest classes? What kind of equipment is needed to start? Any instructors to be aware of (of course that may want to be kept to PM instead of posting) Anything you would like to share?
Thanks in advance.
EDITED:
Oh and I forgot....do you recommend/use a PDA during class/clinicals? If so, which model/software for school?
does anyone know about needing all 3 hep b shots before starting in sept. i got the first one last week and someone told me i need all 3 before i start in sept. pls let me know asapthanks again
I had this same question and was told as long as the series was started that was OK. With each additional shot you just need to bring in something saying the additional shots have been done.
I just need the Study Guide for The Human Body in Health and Disease. I could not find it on line. It is supposed to be in after the 22nd. Looking through the books, I am just wondering if we are going to get through Nursing Fundementals in one semester.
I am just relieved that everything is either done or scheduled and paid for.
The one grant I had, did not get to Quincy College until the morning of the 19th.
Now if I can only remember what I did with my name tags.
I have all my bookks as well....I just need to get my shots tomorrow....
Oh yeah and I just broke my arm....not kidding. Have to have surgery next week, just 1 week before classes start. I hope I'll still be able to start. The school said they can make accomedations for 2 weeks, after that I have to have function of my arm...thankfully it's not my dominant arm
Wish me luck w/ the surgery
Wow, I am sorry to hear that. I hope your surgery and recovery go well. I have heard that the first couple of weeks are basic things like making beds, housekeeping things and getting vitals signs. Hopefully, you will have recovered enough to start. I would hate to see you go throught all this preperation and not be able to start.
Good luck with your surgery and I hope top see you on Wednesday.

I also got my first shot last week. I will have the second two days before the med sheet is due. From what I understand the third shot is a booster shot that is done a couple of months after the second. I think there is no way that all three would be done by the 26th of August since we got notice on June 6th
I went for my physical last week and the lab work was going to be very expensive since I do not have health insurance. I went to the Quincy Medical Center and they were about half of what Quest Diagnostics was going to charge.
