Hey there!A quick question. Does it really matter which combo electrode you place on pt points (right upper chest/left midaxilllary)? Are the pads the same, but explanation on each electrode is to insure proper placement of electrodes in general. No one here knows the answer. And if it does matter, what about each electrode is different?

are you talking about quick combo patches for defib? it really doesn't matter as long as there's a good path for the electricity through the myocardium.
but yes, you can put the patch for the left midaxillary on the right chest and vice versa. I usually put them anterior-posterior.
hope that helps.

I was told it does matter because the path of the electricity goes a certain way and the monitor picks up the respirations a certain way. Ours are biphasic which is why I think that it matters.

Since this is an engineering question (and you've already received contradictory answers! ), the best source is always the manufacturer. There's usually a rep or customer support group that answers questions pretty well.
Funny, all these years and I've never worried about this one...

Go to the medtronic and zoll websites, they'll tell you all about that.
