Wow, I have visited here a few times, reading the past posts but it sure is quiet around here. If there are any ND nurses are students out there, it sure would be great if you made yourself known. I live in GF and am a nursing student in an LPN program. Will graduate this may with hopes of going on for my RN. Would love to hear from you!

hi,, I am not in ND,,but I have visited a few times coz am interested in a lpn-rn bridge program in ND. I have come to the same conclusion as you...man is it quite in here...happy new year!!!

P.S. the reason am interested in bridge program in ND is am hoping they don't have quite the waiting list other states have and maybe I could be accepted without problems. Then again, my thinking might be waaay of base!!!:)

I do not know of any online bridge program, but Northland Community and Technical college in minnesota has a bridge program for LPN to RN.

Hello,

Just saw your post and I thought I would let you know you are not alone in ND. I am an RN soon to be a MSN.:) I live between Minot and Bismarck. I teach part time at Minot State, attent grad school at U of Mary and work full time in Minot. I also have 3 children, a husband and a dog to chase after. So it is not so quiet at my house! I hope you go on for your RN. I originally had a diploma RN, went for my BSN and now my MSN.Hope to hear more from you.

It is good to know that there are others out there:rotfl: . You definently have a very busy life. Do you ever feel like you have always been in school? I do at times and I wonder what I will do when I don't have to go to my computer at night to work on a school assignment. I think I will be lost. But, I won't have to worry about that for awhile, since I do plan on going for my RN. Thank you so much for replying and I wish you the best of luck with your MSN studies. You are an inspiration!

nd mom,

Yes I feel like I have been in school forever! After 20 years I returned for my BSN. I was able to do quite a bit on line. Thank heavens. But then they made me do clinicals which I felt was out of line as I was already an RN, but I bit it and did them. So after the BSN now the MSN. this has actually been easier than the BSN so remember that! I really enjoy teaching. I love the students they are so much fun! My full time job is working with the developmentally disabled. my company has an office in GF. I work with REM. Heard of them?

Take care. Will talk more later.

Hello dmacbusy, Yes I have heard of REM. I do not know much about this company. I live in GF and work for Altru as a certified medical assistant. When I worked family practice I did get to know a nurse who works or worked for them, I think her name was Michelle, could be mistaken though. I can hardly believe they made you do clinicals again. I am sure it felt like a big repeat of what you had already done. You mentioned that you really enjoy teaching, what do you teach? I have thought about some day teaching. I would like to teach in a nursing program. I have had medical assissting students follow me at the clinic and I really enjoyed the look on their face when something they have learned comes together, that little light bulb goes off as you could say. The same thing happens to me as a student, when it finally clicks it is a wonderful feeling. Anyways I should quite babbling her, but there is one other thing I wanted to ask you, what does "dmacbusy" stand for. I have been trying to figure it out with no success:rotfl: .

Talk to you soon,

nd_mom

Nd_mom,

I teach clinicals for 3rd year nursing students on the medical floor. I am also doing (just starting) to do the labs for the brand new level one students, teaching them how to make beds, do a bath etc. So that will be fun.

My dmacbusy is my hotmail name and it is my first initial + part of my last name and then my life story of BUSY!

I really enjoy teaching and it is something I never anticipated doing but I am glad I chose to do it.

My primary job is awesome at giving me time to play as a teacher until I finish my degree and get to do it fulltime!

Hey are you getting snow in GF today? we are just getting the wind.

better run am supposed to be doing my homework!

Hi ND,

I thought I would say hello. I live in Grand Forks and I am currently working on my BSN at University of North Dakota. I am in my second semester of my junior year, so only two more semesters to go! I am glad to see I'm not alone in ND!

Hi all,

Just wanted to say hello. I'm in Minot, ND. I'm not a student yet, but I'll be starting an LPN program in August 2007, through Williston State College, they have a satellite program here. After that I'll continue on to their RN program. If anyone has ever done this program or is planning to please let me know, it's lonely out here :wink2:
