yes, you need to know math conversions and they are NOT given to you on the test...you must memorize them.
there is some spelling too. maybe 6-8 questions of so and I didn't think they were too bad. I am a good speller though... got a 100% on that section.
I would recommend that you purchase the study manual to prepare for the test and Good Luck!

the teas (test of essential academic skills) covers four general areas: math, reading, english and science.
math covers whole numbers, metric conversion, fractions, decimals, algebraic equations, percentages, and ratio/proportion
reading covers paragraph comprehension, passage comprehension, and inferences/conclusions
english covers knowledge of punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, contextual words and spelling
science covers science reasoning, science knowledge, biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, basic physical principles and general science
http://www.atitesting.com/onlinestore/productpage.aspx?code=61&isproduct=1 - this is a link to their official study manual from their online store $34.95. you may not have time to get the manual before the test unless they will ship it by priority mail.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I have the study guide and believe me, I'm studying. How does the time allowed for each segment breakdown?

Know the math conversions but its basic, be up to date on your spelling, its whats been holding me back, I have a BA in Journalism graduated top of my class thanks to spell check and a dictonary, my science skills are way above standard and my math is above but my low reading and spelling scores hold me back. I understand the need to weed out those not fluent in english but it seems silly to have a nursing shortage and not find a better way to evaluate people.

I am going to take the TEAS test on 24 Jan., too. English is my second language, so I am a horrible spelling, reading, and writing person. I am a little nervous, but I will do my best. Good Luck!!
