I have just been accepted into the Seton RN residency and can answer any questions you may have. I will also be creating a post throughout my experience in the residency. Ask away!
RoseLily, I am not sure that will disqualify you, but I was under the impression that they really wanted you to speak to the specialties that you are most interested in. I could be wrong about this, but I too gave my resume to other managers. Hopefully it will pay off in a call back. Good luck to you.
Wow bananamtz i can't believe you already got calls for interviews! congrats
Med/surg and ED. But again these were the tables that had the least amount of people going to them. I'm not sure why because the ED is a level 2. I also went and talked to those managers and let them know I was really interested. I read somewhere that they are very thorough in reading all of the applications so the less they have the faster they are calling applicants back.
oh and thanks!!! I'm so nervous.
Also I think that if you left your info for another unit that you did not apply to, you should go ahead and call them and see if you can apply there too. Not all units were there. I came back with several resumes. Good luck guys! I think you have to weigh your options. You may not end up with the job you want but if that is where you have a better chance, it is better than not getting in. I'm looking at it that way and getting some experience under m belt and then transferring if I need to. But I'm just happy being a nurse so I don't know that it really matters to me. hehe
I would agree with Shiner50 mine was 45 minutes some was close than hour but do be prepared to stay after a little bit to tour the units to talk to the already working employees and some of the versant nurses there ..I stayed for about 2 hours after one of my interview and shadowed a nurse so ladies have a pair of flats ready in the car or don't go to high heels. :) best of luck! Prepare to answer questions on strengths weakness , scenario questions on what would you do if you came across a rude Doctor telling you to do something you are not within scope as well as handling difficult patients
Wow...no hope for me. hahaha The interview I had yesterday was all of about 20 minutes. hahaha I wonder if it was cut short when it was decided that I was not the right candidate. Wow! hehehe I did not get tour of the floor either, but I do already volunteer at the hospital and that may have been why. I don't know. I did not like this question "Do you have a problem doing something you don't normally do?" If something did me in I think it was this one. Seems like trick question. hehe Oh well.
Hi. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long they had to wait between submitting the Part I of the application and they heard back from HR to begin part II? I submitted mine a week ago and haven't heard anything back yet. I wasn't sure if I should try calling or contacting them to make sure it went through? =) I'm just anxious to get everything completed.
I would call. I finished mine on Thursday and got a response yesterday.

i do have a question..the three specialties i applied to, i was just like, what the heck...i'll apply to these. I pretty much have liked everything in nursing school so far so it was really hard to decide. I gave my resumes to many managers who were not in the categories I applied to. Does that disqualify me from getting an interview?
