Hi there, Sacramento Nurses!
I am a ICU RN BSN MN CCRN here in florida with almost two years experience in ICU setting in my local hospital here + (10yrs experience in the philippines) trying to break into the job market in the Sacramento area this coming January or febuary 2019 for a
ICU nurse
I am doing some research now to prepare myself & I was hoping the nurses community in sacramento could help me with some of my questions regarding pay + benefits
Regarding the big employers there like Kaiser UCDavis Sutter and Dignity Health as i have a my family with me and im afraid that my salary cant compensate with the living expenses, salary range will do for a 2 yrs exp icu nurse
Also can anyone suggest when do I start applying since jan 2019 is way too far from now
also if anyone in Kaiser or sutter nurse can refer me to HR or managers that I can talk (but for jan feb 2019 job )
or maybe a referral program
also in my situation that i have an experience 10 yrs as a nurse in another country do they include that on the calculation regarding my base pay?
i have a california licence
Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

With your experience, you shouldn't have much of a problem getting a job in this area. It might take some time, but start applying as soon as you can because the hospitals hire in waves from what I understand.
Kaiser pays the most, but all the hospitals compensate well and the benefits are great. The best paying hospitals are the ones who have a union, so look for those ones and I believe you can look up the starting salaries on their websites. Good luck...
does any one have idea who has better pay and benefits ? sutter or dignity.im trying to apply on these hospitals in the sacramento area

Hey @cha-cha, Did you apply anywhere? Sutter or dignity. I am also planning to move to Sacramento, ca but not able to determine which one to focus more.

UC Davis has a reputation for being the lowest paying in the area but has good benefits, including a strong pension, to try to make up for it. You can find the pay scale by searching title code 9139 here:
Salary Scales | Human Resources
The steps are supposed to correspond to years of experience.
I believe Kaiser nurses start in the $70s but have a less favorable pension plan. I've also heard people there say that there's quite a bit of micromanaging and that you definitely work hard for the money. I've only worked at UCD in this area though so I don't have firsthand knowledge.
